Malaysia and My Eyebrows!

After Brunei we headed to Malaysia for 2 nights before returning back to Bangers.

We stayed in a gorgeous hotel on top of a shopping mall - you can imagine my excitement, I was super duper happy and couldn't wait to go exploring and shopping for the next few days.

Armed with Kevs Credit Card I headed to the shopping mall early to make the most of my day! While having a wonder in a make-up shop I was enticed to have my brows done by the shop assistant -she told me of this new magical brow pen that lasts for a few days and wanted to give me a demo:

'Let me show you' she said excitedly - always up for something new and innovative 'Ok!' I said

Me and my CraZy Eyebrows!

Well...well...well... the Brows were a bit skwiff and a massive disaster and she was right - it does last for a few days! Eek!!!

I was so horrified and mortified with the result and out of sheer embarrassment I decided to take my new Massive Skew Brows back to the comfort of the hotel room so they could hide for the remainder of their time there... popping only to the gym and pool area (at off peak times only) hoping sweat or pool chlorine might help - it didn't!!

I'll have to go back to Malaysia soon so I can go out in public and experience more than room service and the awesome movie channels in the Hotel.
Watch this space for Malaysia Take 2!

Oh and if you are going to Malaysia anytime soon - stay away from the Brow Bar!!

Brunei Darussalam!

After Korea we headed to Brunei Darussalam for 2 days!

It was so good to be back in warm the weather again, but as Brunei is a Dry State there was no ice cold beer available! Its also quite a conservative country so covering up is appreciated with the locals.

Brunei is tiny and they don't get many tourists there, 2 days was more than enough to see the capital Bandar Seri Begawan! It consisted of 2 Mosques, a shopping mall, a market and a Gloria Jeans Coffee House! We'd planned to do the sights over 2 days, but a quick walk into the town... and you've seen em all!

We stayed in a cute little hotel - and i think the only hotel in town, within walking distance to all the sights. Our driver doubled as the Hotel Security Guard, Concierge, Tour Guide and Receptionist.

We headed to the Omar Saifudduen Mosque and river front first. The Mosque was beautiful and adorned with real gold - so we were told. It looked stunning in the evening with all the lights! After our wonder we headed to the shopping mall - my dreams of shopping big were crushed as there was not much to buy - except a magnet! After having dinner at a little cafe in the mall we headed back to the hotel.

The next day we headed to Ulu Temburong National Park to see the Waterfall and the Monkeys - long-tailed Macques are famous in the area. There was not waterfall as it had not rained and the monkeys were MIA! We did however see the entire population of Brunei enjoying their Sunday morning runs / walks in the park. We walked to the viewing point that had a spectacular view of Brunei.

Our driver and all round multi-tasker then picked us up and took us for a brief - 15 min tour of Brunei - first stop the Brunei Museum... its currently closed for construction. Next stop, the Sultans Palace! Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah was sadly not available to see us, but we were allowed to pose for a quick photo outside his massive palace.

After a visit to Gloria Jeans Coffee House for an iced Caramel Latte we headed back to the airport and made our way to KL -Malaysia!

Keeping up with the Koreans!

In January we visited South Korea!

It was a bit of a shock to the system as I've become accustomed to 34 degrees and sunny days! I knew it would be slightly colder that Bangers so i went armed in my jeans, hoodie and summer scarf/sarong just in case! When we arrived i was a bit chilly so borrowed Kevs hoodie too and wrapped up as warm as i could.

OMG - I forgot what it was like to be cold.....well...actually i have never been that cold!!!

-10 degrees awaited us and i was so grateful that my brother was bringing jackets and scarves when he met us. I also promised never to moan about the manic heat in Bangers ever again!!!

Once dressed up as the Korean Mitchilin Man in my stylish new blue coat thing, hat and gloves we headed out for my first ever Korean BBQ! Yum! and I'll say it again Yum!

Not only was it amazing as my brother always has been and will always be the Braai Master - so all the meat was cooked to perfection,  but the beer and Soju combo was a particularity nice touch and warmed me up some!

The next evening my bro and i went for fried chicken and beer. The friend chicken was awesome, but it was just friedn chciken and sortly after you realize there is only so much friend chicken you can eat at one sitting! The beer - i forget what it was called - was a white rice beer - im still undecided on weather it was nice or not. It was like a fizzy milk....hmm.

Grant with the fizzy milky beer stuff!

After dinner we wondered around Seoul for a few hrs, stopping to warm up indoors and work on our beer jackets before we headed to the airport to pick up the New Mrs Brennon who was returning from a trip to the US. The next while the men were hard at work we headed to the shops for some retail therapy, well deserved Starbucks with the most amazing slice of Red Velvet Cake I've ever had!

Our last eve in Korea was spent with more Beer and Soju over a delicious Korean BBQ!
Can't wait to go back (in Summer) for more BBQ time with Grant and Autumn!

BBQ Time!
