Bangkok Farmers Market

On Saturday we went to the Bangkok Farmers Market!

Every few months they are in our area and I'm always up for a Market Visit! The market hasn't been running long, it's small, but has an amazing selection of fresh seafood, fruit and veg, bread, cakes, home made jams, juices and cactus's! . And to throw some more excitement in has a few jewelry stalls!

We wondered around for a hour or so, sampling a few yummy things- we'd just had breakfast so unfortunately weren't hungry enough to try some of the delicious looking lunches they had on offer.

Next time I'm go I'll make sure I'm hungry and be sure to stock up on a few yummy treats!

Port Football Club!

Last night we went to support our local football team - Port FC!

We headed to Pat Stadium, about a 50 min walk from our apartment (stopping for a chocolate waffle on the way for a sugar boost!) We got there about 2 hrs before kick-off to get our tickets and soak up the excitement. Tickets cost 100 baht (£1.84!), i was hoping to pick up a lovely orange and blue team supporters shirt for £10 - unfortunately they were out of my size!

With tickets in hand the excitement building we decided to get a Change Beer and chill with the locals before the match. Outside the stadium you can pick up street food, popcorn or jam with the team drum players practicing their tunes for the match. I'm not sure who they played, but their supporters wore neon pink - wish that was my team's color!!

Inside the stadium you can sit wherever you want, well as soon as the match started everyone stands anyways ! After the National Anthem, the drummer starts and its all go!
I found a cosy spot to watch a bit of the game before falling asleep - I had a lovely little 10 min nap before Kev woke me up for a half time teat - caramel popcorn!
After the sugar boost and the promise of leaving 20 min early, i got into the game and voila... they scored!! (winning goal caught on pic below) And the crowd went crazy!!!! Cried of joy, streamers, shirts off!!! They won!

The winning goal!

We're going to become season-ticket holders (Yay!) and hopefully next time they will have a shirt my size so i can at least look the part of a full on supporter! I may even learn the rules too!
Last match of the season is next week Sunday-  then from Feb 2016 - watch ut for weekly updates about Port FC!

...and the crowd goes crazy! Go Port FC!

Thai Boxing - MBK!

On Wednesday night we went to watch Thai Boxing at MBK Shopping Center.
It takes place every Wednesday night and its free! For 3 hrs you can watch fights and all the drama that goes along with this crazy sport! We watched the ladies round, i think they might be more violent than the men - i would not like to be in the ring with them. They kick, punch, elbow smack...and if no-one drops to the floor the ref decides who wins.
I just love the cute little shorts they wear - gotta get me some of those in pink!
